  2. I don't know, I think I might have too many curves for it ..... I have a fair bit of *ahem" baggage. Still its adorable. I wonder if it would work in ponte?

  3. Thanks so much for your comments. I think this pattern could look great on all sizes. If you want a bit of 'voom' in the bust we could add some very light interfacing where the gathers are at the bust: not to pad this area but give the fabric a bit more body, this is a technique that Christian Dior used at both the bust and hipline and it really works. For more curvaceous figures this dress is lined so you should get a clean, smooth Silhouette. If a pear shape figure is the issue then the option of the bust tie detail is useful in creating the appearance of balance. There is also the option of a full skirt with this pattern. One of the reasons that I'm so passionate about dressmaking is that we don't have to settle for what's in the shops; we can create gorgeous dresses that work for us.

  4. I've been eyeing that Butterick pattern for some time now! I just love the lines. I just found the post about the upcoming sew along for it and plan to at least follow. I'm hoping I have the time to actually sew it!

  5. I could not find the pattern Butterick 5813 on the sewalong. Not that I've won the pattern yet, but I clicked on the sidebar link and saw about a dozen patterns but not this one. Am I looking in the wrong spot?

  6. D'oh! I just found it :) When I clicked, it opened up half way through the post but I clicked again and scrolled up and this pattern was actually the very first one!
